Police apprehends man who injured housemaid for eating meat.
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 31-year-old man who allegedly inflicted injuries onhis housemaid for eating pieces of meat.
Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, Samuel Jinadu said the suspect would be charged to court on Monday.
Jinadu gave the assurance that the police would diligently prosecute the case to deter other residents of the state from maltreating their servants and violating other people’s rights.
The suspect was arrested and handed over to the Apapa Police Station by members of the Sagbokoji community in Apapa where he lived.
The suspect, simply identified as Okpara, was said to have beaten and injured the seven-year-old girl because she allegedly stole and ate some pieces of meat from his wife’s restaurant.
Vice Chairman, Sagbokoji Youth Community, Davis Aderemi called the police station and reported that thecase on wednesday.
“About fifty community people came to the station for solidarity with the victim.
The girl is currently receiving medical attention at the Apapa General Hospital.
