KAI Boss defends Brigade operations in Lagos.


Marshal-General of Kick Against Indicipline, KAI in Lagos State, Captain Danjuma Meigari (RTD), has defended the operations of the Brigade disclosing that it is for the betterment of the State.
Captain Meigari said the organization would continue to be passionate in restoring the beauty of Lagos environment.
Meigari stated this while reacting to allegations from some people that majority of KAI activities were tailored towards oppressing some ethnic groups in the State.
He stated that the Brigade actions were influenced by proactive thinking and its operations are in the interest of all Nigerians.
While restating that KAI was not an instrument of repression, but a means by which the present administration intends to reduce the level environmental decadence that predated the present democratic dispensation in the State, the KAI boss said the organ is an institutional expression of the State Government’s intolerance for unwholesome environment practices.
The KAI top brass explained further that Lagos, before the administration of Governor Tinubu, was regarded as one of the dirtiest, most unorganized and unsecured city in Africa, but said it is now rated alongside some of the most organized and secured cities in Africa.
Meigari emphasized that ethnicity does not influence the Agency in the discharge of its official responsibilities, stressing that the Lagos State government is the most liberal government in the country and that it will continue to pride itself as a genuine mega city where non-indigenes serve sensitive state organizations and even hold key positions.
“In line with the mission of making Lagos Environment clean and secured, he said KAI has successfully sanitized Oshodi market which was mostly populated by Yoruba traders, adding “KAI also has refused to be bugged down by ethnic considerations when it cleared the illegal fowls (Aladiye) market at Palmgrove and Onipanu as well as in Ketu, Mile-12, Ajelogo,Oluwole, Oyingbo, Ilubinrin among others.”
“It’s noteworthy that all these unauthorized business point were heavily populated by Yoruba and Hausa traders,” he further said.
The KAI Marshal however urged all and sundry in the state to support the ongoing positive developmental efforts of the state government, adding that KAI Brigade is one of the efforts which requires constructive inputs by every member of the public.
