Man charged with stabbing fun seekers at night club

The police in Lagos have arraigned a 32-year-old man, Julius Onoji, for allegedly stabbing two fun seekers and destroying five bottles of beer at a night club.

Onoji was brought before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court on a three-count charge of attempted murder, damage to property and breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Folashade Kayode.

Prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Ekundayo, submitted that Onoji stabbed two men with a broken bottle at the night club owned by one Mr Moses Pitan.

Ekundayo said the alleged incident occurred on June 30 at Makurdi Street Ebute Meta and that the victims were receiving treatment in a hospital.

He said the accused had no visible means of livelihood and that he was fond of attacking fun seekers at beer parlours.

The prosecutor said the three people, earlier attacked by him at a beer parlour, were still receiving treatment in hospitals.

The court granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Further hearing in the case will come up on July 30
