4 Okada Robbery Suspects Arrested, 2 AK47 Rifles, 20 Bullets Recovered.
 
Four suspected robbers operating on motorcycle, have been arrested by the police at 14, Oshilemo Street, Afromedia, Okokomaiko, Lagos/Badagry expressway, while allegedly robbing residents of the area recently.

Items recovered from them include a Bajaj motorcycle, two AK47 rifles with 20 rounds of ammunition, two magazines and a big pair of pliers.
Police said a distress call was made to the police at Okokomaiko Division and they responded swiftly and moved to the scene and arrested the four suspects.
The suspects are Emmanuel, Chukwu a.k.a. Indomie For Girls, Friday Ifidon a.k.a. Ekpo, Chidera Ekwueme a.k.a Stainless and Ebuka Esuku, alias Thunder.
After the initial investigation at Okokomaiko Police Station, the four suspects were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja office for further interrogation.
According to a source at SARS, the four suspects have made useful statements to their interrogators. They revealed their hideout and area of operation.
The source said the gang confessed that it operates along Agbara, Iyana Ishasi, old Ojo road axis.
Emmanuel Chukwu, 19, said he was an okada rider who came to Lagos from Delta State but he was introduced into robbery by the gang leader, Israel Inyang.
Chukwu claimed that one day, Inyang, who is now at large, made use of his okada and about two hours later, he paid him N2,000 and that was how he was lured into robbery.
In his statement, Chidera Ekwueme said he and other suspects are okada riders in Ajegunle.
He claimed Ebuka introduced him into bag snatching and he later graduated into car snatching.
Friday Ifidon denied any involvement in robbery.
He said Emmanuel informed the police he used to carry him on bike during operations, adding that when he learnt police have arrested his mother when they were looking for him, his brother advised him to come out of hiding since he had nothing to hide.
Similarly, Ebuka Esuku said he is a bag snatcher. But he got involved in robbery when the gang leader, Inyang was arrested while on a robbery operation with his okada, adding, “I told the DPO I was into bag snatching and not robbery.

Area Boys’ Stab Colleague To Death.
 
Business activities were brought to temporary halt at Tinubu area of Lagos Island, Lagos, when some miscreants stabbed their colleague to death with a broken bottle over a misunderstanding.
The deceased, identified as Saheed, aged 25, was said to have had quarrel with his suspected assailant, Muri, a k a Babanla now at large, recently at Ijora-Badia, a suburb in Iganmu area of Lagos State during which Muri sustained arm injury.
Both the deceased and the assailant were said to reside at Ijora-Badia before Muri escaped to Lagos Island and stayed with Yusuf Alli, alias Salako at uncompleted building at Ajisomo street, known as ‘Oriketebe’ on the Island.
According to eye witnesses, “Babanla was sitting among his colleagues at the entrance of Ajisomo street when the deceased was sighted, walking along Nnamdi Azikwe street at about 9. 30am and was pursuit by Babanla and three other youths in their circle”.
The incident caused commotion in the area as traders who had just opened their shops for business hurriedly locked up and fled. Passers-by and motorists that plied the road immediately abandoned the route for another.
The remains of the deceased was later taken away by his relatives from Ijora-Badia after they were informed about the incident.
The incident, which was reported at Ebute-Ero police station, was later transferred to Area ‘A’ police command, Lion Building where some residents at Ajisomo assisted the police to arrest one of the suspected assailants called Ife, a friend of the deceased who carried away the corpse, and Muri’s mother at Ijora-Badia.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman and Secretary of Joint Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Ward B3, Raheem Adeniji and Adamson Idowu hinted that efforts have been made to get rid of the notorious boys and girls that live at Oriketebe for long without success, due to the involvement of some youths in the area who associate with them, “but now, every efforts will be made to rid our area of the miscreants.
Meanwhile, a police source from Area ‘A’ Command said detectives had begun searching for the remaining hoodlums, adding that the case will soon be transferred to the Homicide Section of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
