Police not sleeping over insecurity in Nigeria

Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has said the police are not sleeping over  unresolved insecurity challenges in the country, assuring that innovative strategies being adopted would soon end the menace.  

Abubakar, who spoke at Iragbiji, headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, at the foundation laying of Police Institute for Training and Indoctrination sited in the town, said the current security challenges in the country are worrisome, hence the need for collaborative efforts by all Nigerians.

The IGP, who was represented by a Deputy Inspector General of Police, Olajide Akano, declared that the police would henceforth monitor all aspects of the nation’s economy, with a view to preventing corruption and insecurity. 

He therefore, urged the public, irrespective of age, to co-operate with the police in the task of ensuring security of lives and property in the country, saying the police are determined to fight terrorism to a stand still in Nigeria, and would not relent in the battle until sanity is restored. 

Abubakar, who was also conferred with the chieftaincy title of Jagun Asoludero of Iragbiji land by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Ayotunde Olabomi, stressed the need for all and sundry to join hands with the police to fish out known terrorists and criminals in their areas.
