Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, Adisa Bolanta says more than eight thousand security personnel have being mobilised for tomorrow's governorship election in the state.
Bolanta told newsmen in Sokoto that some of the officers and men were drafted from Agencies like the police, the Army, SSS, immigration, civil defence, NDLEA and the Federal Road Safety Corps in the neighbouring states.
The CP stated that he got the men from Kebbi and Zamfara states-- for the conventional police -- and then anti-riot policemen from eleven states.
Bolanta, who is also the chairman of the state Inter-Agencies Security Committee, urged eligible voters to come out in large numbers and exercise their civic right, without any fear of molestation.
On Boko Haram’s threat to bomb Sokoto, the CP said the concerted effort of all security agencies and vigilance on the part of the residents, would continue to thwart such evil plans.
He described security as a collective responsibility, and pleaded with residents of the state to always inform security agencies of strange movement and unknown faces around them for prompt action.
