Navy has evolved transformation plan.

The Nigerian Navy has initiated a transformation plan for effective capacity building toward improved efficiency.
Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Sa’ad Ibrahim, said this on Tuesday at the opening of a two-day seminar for naval personnel in Lagos.
He was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogbor.
He said the Armed Forces of Nigeria are currently in the process of transforming itself toward achieving improved and sustainable efficiency.
Ibrahim said It is in this line that the navy had initiated its own process of evolving a viable transformation plan for effective capacity building.
He said the transformation plan entailed the use of new knowledge and technologies for improved operation.
The Naval Chief said the plan was designed to be achieved in milestone of short, medium and long term intervals.
He said attitudinal change among naval personnel was necessary for the achievement of the transformation.
The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Quorra, Rear Admiral James Akinwale said training and retraining of naval officers and men would improve security of Nigeria’s high seas.
The seminar was part of activities to mark the 2011 Nigerian Navy Week celebration.
