Seme Customs Command generates ₦635.9m revenue
The Seme Border Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it generated ₦635.9 million revenue in the month of September.
Sadiq Sahabi, area comptroller of Customs, said in Seme that the amount represented total receipts during the month. He said that the revenue was generated from duties, taxes, levies, fines and Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on goods imported through the border.
Mr Sahabi said 22 seizures, whose Duty Paid Value was estimated at ₦92.4 million, were made during the period.
He said the two suspects that were arrested during the month had been convicted for smuggling.
The command had already surpassed its revenue target of ₦6 billion for 2011.
