NDLEA arrests Idumota trader with 1.55kg cocaine.




The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a trader with 1.55kg of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Its spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the suspect, (name-withheld), a trader at the Idumota Market in Lagos, was apprehended on his way to New Delhi, India.
The suspect fell into the hands of our officers during the outward screening of passengers on Ethiopian Airline to New Delhi, India.
Ofoyeju said The drug was intelligently concealed on the sides of his travel luggage and was detected at the luggage checking desk wing of the airport.
According to Ofoyeju, the suspect blamed his involvement in drug trafficking on the demolition of his shop by the Lagos State Government.
Ofoyeju quoted the Chairman, Ahmadu Giade, as saying the agency would continue to protect legitimate businessmen and women.
The suspect, he said, would soon be charged to court.
