NDLEA arrests 6 over narcotics exportation

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested six suspected persons in connection with the unlawful exportation of 7.51kg of narcotics.

In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos, NDLEA said that the suspects were apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The statement was signed the agency’s spokesman, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju.

The agency said the illicit drugs comprised 6.35kg of cocaine and 1.16kg of heroin, both valued at N75 million.

It added that another suspect tested positive to drug ingestion during the screening of London-bound British Airways passengers.

The agency gave the assurance that the suspects would be charged to court soon.
