The police in Rivers have rescued a retired permanent secretary in the state, Solomon Ordu, from his abductors.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rita Abbey said the victim was rescued in the early hours of Wednesday in a forest on Elele-Owerri road.
Abbey said policemen at the Elele division on Nigeria Police, working on a tip-off, stormed the forest and rescued Ordu, who was abducted on Monday.
She said the police arrested a suspect, from the same community with Ordu, at the scene of the rescue operation.
The Spokesperson urged the public to give useful information that would assist the police to check crime in the state.
