IGP commends Ondo govt.

The Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, has commended the Ondo State government for its support to the police in their efforts at combating crime in the state.
Apart from this, the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has again called for the creation of state police to facilitate effective policing in the country.
They both spoke in Akure, Ondo State capital at the inauguration of five Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) purchased by the state government and donated to the Nigeria Police to fight crime in the state.
The IGP, who was represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 11, Jognson Egbunam, noted that the state under Mimiko had been of tremendous assistance to the state police command.
According to him, the huge investment of the state government in the state police was a demonstration of the resolve of the governor for a crime free state.
The police boss stated that the APCs were not the first donation of the state government to the police, saying government had earlier presented over 50 Hilux vehicles and 500 bullet proof vests to the command.
