Nigeria committed to free movement of goods and persons.

Nigeria is committed to the implementation of the Economic Community Of West African States Protocol on Free Movement of Goods and Persons.

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jibril Martins-Kuye made the remark at the opening of a seminar on Obstacles to Intra-Regional Trade in West Africa-The Challenges of Non-Tariff Barriers and Poor Trade Settlement System.

Martins-Kuye said Nigeria was committed to the automation of all border posts and planned to ensure twenty-four hours service in the clearance of goods through the modernisation of customs procedure and trade facilitation programmes.

He called on all government agencies, such as the Customs, Immigration, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, NAFDAC, ministries, departments and agencies to play active roles in facilitating trade between Nigeria and other countries.
