FRSC says 837 casualties recorded in road accidents in 3 months in Edo, Delta.

The Benin Zonal Command of FRSC announced that 837 casualties were recorded in 262 road accidents in the area between August and October.
The zone covers Edo, Delta and Anambra States.
The Zonal Commander, Yakubu Attah, told Newsmen in Benin that of the 837 casualties, 104 deaths were recorded, while 733 others either sustained serious or minor injuries.
He said 532 males, 210 females and 79 children were affected, and attributed most of the accidents to over-speeding and loss of control.
Atta said as part of efforts to mitigate the avoidable crashes, the command had set up a special task force, comprising FRSC personnel and the Nigeria Police to commence the removal of wreckages and items causing obstructions on the highways.
He warned motorists to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any journey to avoid any break-down on the highway.
