Man,28, arraigned for allegedly harming two brothers.




A 28-year-old man, Kingsley Moses, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly using a machete to wound two brothers.
The accused is facing a one-count charge of unlawful assault.
The prosecutor, Insp. Benedict Unawunwa, told the court that the accused allegedly wounded Ikechukwu Akudu and Obinna Akudu with a machete in the course of an argument.
Unawunwa said the offence, which was committed on July 22, contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2003.
He said the accused allegedly injured the brothers at about 8 a.m., around their abode, at 34, Casco St., Kuje-Amuwo, Lagos.
He said the victims were still receiving treatment from the injuries they allegedly sustained during the disagreement.
Moses, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum.
The magistrate also ruled that the surety `must` show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till Oct. 19 for further hearing.
