YAKUB ALKALI LAGOS POLICE BOSS



The Lagos State Police Command has assured that police officers involved in the screening of incoming Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents of Police will be fair to all applicants.
Its Commissioner, Yakubu Alkali gave the assurance in Lagos during the screening of candidates for Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents of Police.
Alkali said a total of one thousand two hundred applicants applied to be enlisted as Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents of Police in the Force.
He advised applicants to report any police officer who demanded bribe from him personally so that he can take appropriate actions.
The Commissioner said he would personally supervise the screening exercise to ensure that it is fair and credible.
Applicants for the post of inspector are to obtain a minimum of an OND, NCE, diploma or A-Level, while applicants for ASP are expected to be degree holders or HND holders with a minimum of second class lower division in the humanities.
Alkali assured that in addition to the certificates presented, applicants must prove at the point of screening that they have the discipline and moral standards to undergo the rigorous training necessary for combating crime in the state.
