Seme Customs Command generates N645.6m in July.


The Nigeria Customs Service, Seme Border Command, said it generated N645.6 million as revenue in July 2011.
Area Comptroller of Seme Customs Command, Sadiq Sahabi who made this known said the revenue figures showed that the command had met its target for the month.
The duty imposed on imported goods by the command included levy, tax, Value Added Tax and fines.
The area comptroller said 31 seizures were made during the period under review, adding that the Duty Paid Value of N90.6 million was recorded.
He listed the seized items for the month to include textiles, frozen poultry products, rice, vegetable oil, general merchandise and vehicles.
Others are bed sheets, ladies bags, second-hand clothing, travel boxes, carpets, shopping bags, mats, school bags, men’s sandals, ladies slippers and snickers.
