ARMY CAP

Army warns public to be vigilant.

The Nigerian Army has warned the public to be vigilant in order not to fall victims of fraudsters and imposters who parade themselves as soldiers.
The Director of Information, 81 Division, Lieutenant-Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, gave the warning while parading a suspected imposter in Lagos.
Ogunsanya said not all people in army uniform were real, as some impostors paraded themselves as military men to carry out criminal activities.
According to him, the suspect was arrested on January six while trying to defraud the Nigerian Army Engineers.
He said the suspect, who claimed to be a retired colonel in the Nigerian Army, in December last year sent a request to the Corps of Army Engineers, for financial assistance.
Ogunsanya said the suspect was earlier in twenty-ten arrested twice by the OP-MESA, a special team, for impersonating as a brigadier-general.
He said the suspect would be handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary action to serve as a deterrent to others.
While taking questions from newsmen, the suspect refuted the allegation and insisted that he would reveal his other details when charged to court.
