Customs generate N640 million at Seme Border in June.
Area Comptroller, Seme Border Command of Nigeria Customs Service, Sadiq Sahabi said the command generated N640.2 million as revenue in June, 2011.
Sahabi said the revenue generated in the month under review was an improvement over that of May which was slightly above N400 million.
He said the revenue was collected from customs duty, Value Added Tax and other charges levied on imported goods.
The Comptroller said 27 seizures with a Duty Paid Value of N340.1 million were made in the month under review.
He said goods impounded included wine, vehicles, leather materials, textiles, fruits and beverages.
