A Grade “A” Customary Court in Shomolu, Lagos on Friday dissolved a 17-year-old marriage due battering of the woman by the man.
The Court President, Mrs Modupe Bajulaiye held that the marriage between two traders, Ade Adeoye (52) and his estranged wife, Yinka (43), had broken down irretrievably because of constant beating and neglect of Yinka by Ade.
She said Ade did not attend hearings in the suit filed on May 9, although he was aware of the divorce suit filed by Yinka.
Bajulaiye held that evidence before the court showed that the parties had been living separately since 2009 and that Ade had married another wife
