NDLEA discovers 9 more parcels of cannabis in alleged traffickers' car
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Seme Border Command, says it has discovered nine more parcels of cannabis in a suspected traffickers’car which the Customs unit handed over to it.
The Area Commander of the NDLEA, Nicholars Ajaduruonye, said following a more thorough search, his officers recovered nine more parcels from the car, bringing the total haulage to 2.8kg.
The commander claimed that the car belonged to two the suspected arrested traffickers, who, he also alleged were husband and wife, Segun Adetuju and Dupe Adetuju.
Apart from those initially transferred to the command, more parcels of cannabis were found concealed inside the back seat and in a compartment of the boot.
The suspects’ Honda car was refurbished in such a way to traffic many parcels of the drugs suspected to be marijuana undetected," he said.
Ajaduruonye said Adetutu resided in Ghana whileAdetutu traded in women’s underwear at Idumota Market, Lagos.
Sadiq Sahabi, the Area Comptroller of Customs, Seme Border Command, on Tuesday handed over 27 parcels of cannabis to the NDLEA,which it recovered from the car during a search.
Sahabi also transferred two suspects to Adamu Eijege, the Deputy Area Commander of the NDLEA.
