Envoy challenges Nigeria Police on trans-border crimes.
The Ghana Consul-General in Lagos, S.K. Parker-Allotey, has urged the Nigeria Police to rise up to the activities of trans-border criminals.
The envoy gave the charge on Wednesday in Lagos when the new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Yakubu Alkali, paid him a courtesy visit.
There is need for the Lagos police command to check the activities of cross border criminals in the sub-region.
Lagos is so important to West Africa, therefore, crimes like human trafficking, trans-border robbery, fake drugs, among others should be checked,” Parker-Allottey said.
The consul general assured the police chief of the readiness of his diplomatic mission to render any assistance that would help to curb crime.
In his remarks, Alkali said he was at the mission to familiarise himself with organisations within his sphere of coverage.
He solicited the cooperation of organisations and residents to ensure that the metropolis was crime-free.
