Fake soldier granted N50,000 bail.

A middle-aged man, Edward Erhuen has been in Lagos arraigned at an Apapa Senior Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly impersonating a soldier.

The prosecutor, Cpl. John Ibinedien, told the court that Erhuen was arrested on July 16, at Achakpo Bus Stop, Ajegunle, Lagos, wearing full military uniform.

Ibinedien said the accused had been using the uniform to commit offence and harass residents.

He said Erhuen on July 16 at the same place assaulted and injured one Mr Chukwugozie Okwuegbulem on the head leading to his being treated at a hospital.

He said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 109 and 351 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos 2003.

Erhuen reports that the accused pleaded not guilty.

The Senior Magistrate,O. Oshin, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

She adjourned further hearing till Sept. 22.
