A sales woman, Nkiruka Okeke, was arraigned for allegedly stealing N1.8 million belonging to her employer.
The accused was charged before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Eshiet Eshiet, told the court that the accused stole $11,000 (N1.7m) and N100,000 cash from one Mr Ezike Obiorah.
Eshiet said the offence was committed on Sept. 19, at No. 159, Nnamdi Azikiwe St., Idumota in Lagos.
He said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390 (6) (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate, Oyindamola Ogala, adjourned the case till Oct.. 25, for further hearing.
