A 34-year-old technician, Obinna Nweke, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defrauding and threatening the life of a landlord.
Nweke is facing a three-count charge of fraud, theft and threatening the life of one Abraham Ugochukwu.
The prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Orji, told the court that the accused fraudulently obtained N210,000 from Ugochukwu to supply and install four air conditioners in his newly-built house but failed to do so.
The prosecutor said the accused threatened to kill the complainant if the mater was reported to the police.
According to the prosecutor, the offences were punishable under Sections 419, 390 and 86 of the Criminal code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate, C. J. Mommodu, granted the accused N200,00 bail and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Oct. 27 for further hearing.
