NDLEA arrests 57-year-old drug suspect with methamphetamine.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday announced the arrest of a 57-year-old suspected drug trafficker in Lagos.
Head, Public Affairs of the agency, Mitchell Ofoyeju said the suspect was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos with 1.6 kg of substances suspected to be methamphetamine.
Ofoyeju noted that the suspect was found with a United States international passport and a business class ticket on Qatar Airways flight, stressing that he allegedly brought the drugs from Narita, Japan through Doha.
According to him,The high profile suspect was on his way at the weekend to personally deliver the 1.670kg drugs.
Ofoyeju said the suspect has been hiding under the cover of automobile importation in trafficking narcotics.
He said the agency is happy with the arrest as his criminal admirers and accomplice will be forced to have a rethink.
