Police constable dismissed for alleged armed robbery.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Suleiman Abba, on Thursday dismissed a police constable, Andrew Oche, for alleged armed robbery.
The 23-year-old policeman was attached to Festac Division and was recruited in 2006.
Abba, while parading Oche with two other suspects, told journalists that he allegedly robbed a Taiwanese national.
“We have arrested the second policeman at the command he escaped to. We will bring him to Lagos for investigation before we know what to do to him," Abba said.
He said the dismissal and prosecution of the policeman would serve as a lesson to others who use their uniforms and arms to commit crime.
In another development, a 21-year-old diploma holder in chemical engineering had been arrested for allegedly killing a Spanish national in a hotel room in Festac town.
Abba, who paraded the suspect, said the incident happened on Tuesday at about 5 a.m.
He said the suspect left the dead body of the foreigner in a hotel room after killing him and escaped but was latter traced to his house in Festac.
The suspect, claimed that the Spanish whom he knew from Ghana approached him for a business deal.
The robbery suspects were detained at SARS, Ikeja, while the murder suspect was taken to State CID, Panti.
