PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN

ICPC's new board moves to reposition commission

The newly inaugurated board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says it will continue to strive to achieve the vision of the commission.

Chairman of the board, Ekpo Nta, who is also acting Chairman of ICPC, said this on Friday in Abuja as he addressed newsmen and staff of the commission..

President Goodluck Jonathan had inaugurated the board on Nov. 29 with a charge that it repositioned the commission for efficiency.

Nta said that an ad-hoc committee of the board had been set up to analyse the decisions taken at previous meetings with stakeholders such as the Department for International Development (DFID), which would help the board in the discharge of its duties.

Our corporate vision is to restore Nigeria to its earlier status of a nation that commanded respect in the world and maintain it when it comes to probity, accountability and integrity in the conduct of public and private business,'' he said.

Nta called on all staff of the commission to continue to do their work, with respect to human right and dignity.

According to the chairman, the board will be introducing new code of conduct that will help to carry out the statutory mandate of the commission.
