Nigeria’s Fraud Unit Gets New Helmsman

Mr. Johnson Babatunde Ogunsakin has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi, Lagos.

The unit’s spokesperson, Mrs Ngozi Isintume, confirmed this in a statement made available to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.

Until his posting, Ogunsakin was Deputy Commissioner of Police `F’ Department at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He replaced Mr Chiwike Asadu, who had been deployed to the Kwara State Command.

Isintume said that the Commissioner assumed duty at the Special Fraud Unit on Monday.

The spokesperson noted that Ogunsakin was appointed into the force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1982.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/History, Advance Diploma in Law Diplomacy & Conflict Management. He also attended various courses in Nigeria and abroad.

Ogunsakin also held various appointments, including Director of Operations, EFCC; Head Investigation, ICPC, ACP; Force Secretary; ACP Provost Marshall and ACP in-charge of Interpol at Force Criminal Investigation Department.
