Police Smash Stolen Vehicles Gang.






The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Lagos State Police Command has recovered 28 exotic cars stolen by a two-man gang of robbers who sell them to their accomplices.
The two suspects, Moses Obatuegwu, 40, and Chidolue Christian, 51, were arrested recently by operatives of SARS at Badore area of Ajah, Lagos.
Investigations revealed that a suspect called Festus was arrested for car snatching and alleged armed robbery.
He reportedly confessed under interrogation that he and members of his gang usually sell exotic cars and SUVs they snatch to Obatuegwu and Chidolue.
Men of SARS then snooped on the two suspects who allegedly confessed to receiving stolen vehicles from Festus and his gang.
The two men allegedly led SARS operatives to where they sold their vehicles and 28 were recovered.
In his statement to the police, Obatuegwu confessed he had received 15 stolen cars from his friend whom he did not name.
He said he did not receive from Festus.
He said the vehicles were usually sold to his customers in Lagos or Abuja for between N600,000 and N800,000 depending on the brand of the cars.
The suspect, who was selling clothes before he was introduced into sales of stolen vehicles, said he is married and has three children.
Also in his statement to the police, Chidolue confessed he received stolen vehicles from Ikechukwu Nwizugbe, a robbery suspect who has been on the run.
He said he did not receive vehicles from Festus.
On the number of stolen vehicles he had receive, Chidoluwe said he had bought up to eight.
