Civil defense boss urge Nigerians to be cautious of information
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Ade Abolurin, has appealed to Nigerians to avoid spreading exaggerated news about the security situation in the country.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, Ade Abolurin said while Nigerians feel the need to spread information, “such news must be confirmed, in order to avoid putting more Nigerians at risk.”
Following the recent numerous terror attacks in different parts of the country, a number of false messages are broadcasted across the various social media platforms.
He noted that “the spate of insecurity in the country is a phase that Nigeria will pass through” as he appealed to the citizens to complement the efforts of security operatives.
According to Abolurin, “Nigeria remains a safe haven for the majority of persons especially when compared with other very volatile nations.
