New Commissioner of Police resumes in Lagos
The new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command, Umar Manko, has resumed duty, following the retirement of his predecessor, Yakubu Alkali.
The command’s spokesman, SP Joseph Jaiyeoba, who confirmed this said Manko reported at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja about 5p.m on Monday, about 12 days after Alkai bowed out of the force.
He said the new police chief was received by DCP Adams Audu and DCP Tunde Sobulo, alongside other principal staff.
Manko is the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Edo.
Manko enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in 1984 as a Cadet ASP, and has served as Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State and Katsina State, as well as the Airport Command, in Lagos.
