The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, arrived Ibadan on Wednesday on a one-day familiarisation tour of Oyo State.
Abubakar arrived the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, at about 5:40pm in a police helicopter with registration number 5N KSH.
He was received by Tambari Mohammed, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police and other dignitaries.
Among them were Monsurat Summonu, the Speaker, Oyo State House Assembly and Justice Badejoko Adeniji, the Oyo State Chief Judge
Others were representatives of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Road Safety Commission.
The Acting Inspector General of Police, who could not inspect the guard of honour and did not make any speech, immediately drove away in company with other security chiefs.
DSP Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, said the Acting Inspector General of Police’s tour would begin on Thursday.
His first port of call, according to the release, would be the Oyo State Government House, where he would pay a courtesy visit to Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Abubakar would also be expected to address traditional rulers at the Banquet Hall of the Government House.
Later in the day, the Acting Inspector General of Police would be at the State Command's Conference hall to address security stakeholders as well as officers and men after which he would depart for Abuja.
