Sambo seeks dialogue with Boko Haram

According to the Vice-President, “Islam remains a religion of peace and does not promote mindless killings.”
Boko Haram has in recent years, staged violent insurgency against the Nigerian government, security operatives, Churches and schools, claiming hundreds of lives.
Addressing the gathering at the, symposium, Mr Sambo advocated for peace stating nothing will stand in the way of the success of the administration.
He noted that the violence rocking parts of the country by the terrorist groups is “uncalled for and must be stopped.”
He further announced efforts made by the government in key sectors of the economy especially the power sector.
Present at the event was the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, who also condemned the disregard for human life shown in the rampant killings that have become regular in Nigeria.
The event had a lot of people in attendance with a filled auditorium which included government officials, Islamic scholars and religious leaders and more people outside the hall
