Man docked for stealing church keyboard.


The police in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a 30-year-old man before a Somolu Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a keyboard belonging to a church.

The accused, Okechukwu Eziokwu is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. A. Adegoke, told the court that the accused on Sept. 30, stole a Yamaha keyboard valued at N120,000 property of New Testament Life Mission Church.

The prosecutor said the accused, who was not a member of the church, broke into the place of worship and stole the item but was caught.

He said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate,B. Osunsanmi, granted the accused N100,000 bail with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan. 31, 2011.
