Theft: Man bags 3 months with hard labour.

For stealing a plastic worth N5,500, a 33-year-old man was on Monday sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour.
Owusu Hassan, who has no visible means of livelihood, was docked at an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court charged with the breach of peace and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Orji, told the court that the convict conducted himself in a manner that was likely to cause a breach and stealing a plastic drum kept in his premises.
Orji said the drum belonged to one Mr Anthony Orazulume of 17, Oyewole Str., Agege in Lagos .
He said the convict committed the offence on Dec. 12, adding that it was punishable under Sections 249 (d) and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
Hassan pleaded guilty to the charges and was subsequently sentenced by Magistrate C. J. Mommodu.
In sentencing him, Mommodu said the punishment would serve as deterrent to others.
