PPRO LAGOS COMMAND OF POLICE


Police restate ban on fireworks.


The Lagos State command of the Nigeria Police on Saturday reminded residents on the existing ban on use of fireworks and urged individuals and organizations to obtain police permission before doing so.


Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba who made this known said the police were on red alert during the Christmas period and urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly.


Mba urged parents to warn their wards against the use of fireworks, stressing that anyone found throwing knockouts will be arrested and prosecuted.


He advised organisations intending to use fireworks during the Yuletide season to consult the police for guidance.


Mba also advised members of the public to beware of rough oceans to avoid drowning at the beaches.


The Police Boss said the marine police have been directed to intensify patrol on the water ways for security and safety of picnickers.
