Military to increase remuneration of personnel involved in security operations.

A recommendation to increase the remuneration of military personnel who die during internal security operations will soon be forwarded to the Armed Forces Council.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Pentirin, said this in Abuja on Tuesday while making clarifications on compensation for casualties of military operations in the Niger Delta.

He said the proposed increase would be in addition to other entitlements paid to families of deceased military personnel.

The thing is that government usually trains children of affected personnel to university level, government has never neglected them,he said.

Some military personnel lost their lives in the recent Joint Military Task Force operations in Delta State.
