27-year-old electronics dealer docked for alleged fraud


A 27-year-old dealer in electronics, Chukwudi Ajereh, was on Monday docked at the Yaba Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly defrauding one Dennis Ajaude of N504,000.

Ajereh is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing before Magistrate Patrick Adekomaya.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Essien Emmanuel, told the court that the accusedm, along with others still at large, on Sept. 24 conspired to commit the offence.

He said the accused with his gang obtained N504,000 from Ajaude under the pretext of supplying them some electronic products, a representation he knew was false.

He said the offence was contrary to Sections 390(9), 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Adekomaya granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case till Dec. 20 for further hearing.
