The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has sealed off six firms over alleged tax evasion amounting to N241.4 million.
leader of the enforcement team, Jide Sosan alleged that the companies refused to remit their tax liabilities to the coffers of the state government.
Sosan said the companies’ outstanding taxes covered 2004 to 2008.
According to him, the firms refused to remit their taxes in spite of the several notices sent to them.
He said it had been observed that some tax defaulters were in the habit of breaking government seals, warning them to desist from such acts.
