Two businessmen, Chika Ikenne (22) and Leke Ayan (52) have been arraigned for forging a sales invoice and delivery note to steal goods worth N43.3 million.
The accused were standing trial before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court on four-count charge of conspiracy, forgery, fraud and stealing.
The Prosecutor, DSP Albert Ebhota said the accused with others now at large on June 8 in Lagos forged a sales invoice belonging to Staffer Union West Africa, Lagos.
The accused forged a sales invoice purported to have been issued to one Gbadebo to steal goods belonging to Staffer Union West Africa valued at N43 million,” he said.
Ebhota said the accused on June 6 also forged a delivery note of the same company purported to have been issued to one Alabi to steal 120 pieces of lock sets valued at N384, 000.
He said the offence contravened sections 516, 462, 467 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2003.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges when it was read to them.
Magistrate,O.I. Akinkugbe granted them bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum each.
She adjourned the case till Sept. 14 for further hearing.
