Cosmetics dealer in court over N2.8m fraud.

The police in Lagos has charged to court a 24-year-old cosmetics dealer, Nnamdi Osielo, with N2.8 million fraud.

The accused was arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court.

The prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Omoyeni, said that the accused defrauded one Mr Monday Emmanuel in the guise of supplying him 86 cartons of a body lotion.

He said Osielo allegedly failed to supply the goods and did not return money.

Omoyeni submitted that the accused committed the alleged crime in company with others still at large on July 7 at No. 8, Baba Akin St., Ilogbo Eremi, Lagos.

He said the alleged offences contravened Sections 516, 419 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code of Lagos State and punishable with seven years’ imprisonment.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail by Magistrate M. Olubi in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

The court adjourned the case till Sept. 1 for further hearing.
