The Police Service Commission has said the ongoing recruitment of 40,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force has not been suspended.
Commission's Chief Information Officer, Ferdinand Ekpe urged the public to discountenance reports on the purported suspension.
Ekpe advised those interested in enlisting into the Police Force to continue with the processing of their applications.
He reiterated that the Commission was the body empowered by law to recruit, discipline and promote men and officers of the Force, from the rank of constable to deputy inspector-general of police.
The Commission on July 30, lifted the suspension it placed on the recruitment in early July and asked applicants to visit the police website to download forms for the exercise, from Aug. 2 to Sept. 9.
