The Federal High Court in Lagos has reviewed the bail conditions of two Finbank directors and gave the nod for them to travel abroad for medical attention.
The bank’s former Managing Director,Okey Nwosu and a non-Executive Director, Dayo Famoroti are standing trial for alleged misuse of depositors’ funds, manipulation of the bank’s shares, and laundering of about N100 billion.
The EFCC had slammed a 42-count charge on the duo along with two other non-Executive Directors of the bank, Danjuma Ocholi and Agnes Ebubedike.
Both Nwosu and Famoroti had urged the court to review their bail conditions and allow them to travel abroad for treatment and business.
The court had on Sept. 15, 2009, ordered them not to travel out of the country pending the determination of the case preferred against them.
However, in his ruling, Justice Dan Abutu, said the applications of the accused had succeeded and they could travel out of the country.
He said their prayers were granted because of what he called their good conduct in court.
Abutu said Famoroti should, however, return to Nigeria before Sept. 20.
The case has been adjourned till Oct.18 for trial.
