The Nigeria Customs Service, Seme Border Command has posted a total revenue of N3.2 billion in seven months.
Its Commander, Bawa Mohammed said Command generated N3.2 billion between January and July 2010.
Mohammed said the revenue came from duty, Value Added Tax , levy and fines imposed on imported items including rice, textiles, cars, wine and pomade.
According to him, the Command recorded more than N487 million in July alone.
Mohammed said out of the amount generated, 49 seizures alone accounted for N48 million through duty paid value.
