Court dismisses injunction filed by deposed Deji of Akure.

An Akure High Court has dismissed the interlocutory injunction filed by the deposed Deji of Akureland, Oba Oluwadare Adepoju.

The injunction sought to restrain the state government from carrying out a fresh selection to fill the vacant Deji of Akure traditional stool.

Justice Samuel Bola also struck out the deposed traditional ruler's interlocutory injunction to restrain the state government from setting up a regency council.

However, Adepoju immediately filed an appeal against the judgment of the ruling at the Appeal Court in Benin.

The deposed traditional ruler who filed the suit at the Appeal Court through his counsel,Olusola Oke, said respondents in the case had been served with court notice.

Oke appealed to all parties in the case, particularly the relevant organs of the Ondo State Government and Secretary to Akure South Local Government,to refrain from doing anything that would lead to reckless disdain for the court of Appeal and the rule law.

He specifically appealed to the state government not to treat the matter with disdain.

Oke said he had to file an appeal against the Akure High Court ruling in consonance with relevant laws to restrain the government from taking further action on the matter.
