A man who claimed to be a car dealer, Olatunbosun Kolade has appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court over alleged fraud.
Kolade is facing a four-count charge of fraud, stealing, breach of peace and obtaining money by false pretence, but he pleaded not guilty before Magistrate E. O. Ogunkanmi.
The prosecutor, Insp. Fola Takumbe, told the court that Kolade obtained N950,000 from one Bunmi Oluwasanmi under the pretence of supplying a Toyota Corolla car to her.
Takumbe said Kolade did not deliver the car as he promised nor returned the money.
He said when Oluwasanmi confronted him, Kolade became violent and wanted to fight her.
The prosecutor said the alleged offences were committed on Jan. 29 at Egbeda.
Takumbe noted that alleged offences were punishable under Sections 419, 421, 390 and 84 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State.
The court granted Kolade bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Further hearing in the case will come up on Sept. 1.
