A 36-year-old truck driver was on Thursday arraigned before the Surulere Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a truck worth N4 million.
Donatus Eze is facing a one-count charge of stealing a truck belonging to Chinedu Emanelo.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Samuel Ishola, told the court that the offence was committed on Dec.12 at Plot 15 Apapa-Oshodi express way, Ijesha, Lagos.
The prosecutor said Eze got the truck from Emanelo with an agreement that the accused would pay by installment until the payment was completed.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Senior Magistrate, MKO Fadeyi, granted the accused N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan. 19.
