The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested six persons for unlawful possession of powdery substances suspected to be cocaine.
The suspects were arrested while boarding a flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on their way to Europe.
NDLEA spokesman,Mitchell Ofoyeju said the six suspects are in our custody for observation and interrogation pending their arraignment in court.
According to him,After an arrest is made, the suspect is placed under observation if the mode of drug concealment is ingestion and this is because one of the crucial evidence needed for prosecution is the drug.
He said the suspects would be charged to court soon.
NDLEA Airport Commander, Hamza Umar,said an average of four suspects are apprehended for drug trafficking every week at the airport.
