Court dissolves 16-year-old marriage over indebtedness.

An Ibadan Grade C Customary Court has dissolved a 16-year-old marriage between a caterer, Olubunmi Oladele, and a pharmacist, Kayode Oladele, on the grounds of his being a debtor.

Olubunmi told the court that her husband was fond of borrowing money about and that the police were always arresting him.

She said the secret service agents came to her office and asked her where she had hidden Oladele and that she almost lost her job.

The caterer also said that she was tired of the marriage and that she could not continue with it because she did not love him anymore.

Oladele, however, was not present in court in spite of being served with the court summons twice.

The President of the Court,Olayinka Owoade, dissolved the marriage and awarded custody of the three children to Olubunmi.

He ordered Oladele to be paying N3,000 monthly allowance for the upkeep of the last child.
